Nwae....all of us turning 22yrs old soon.. Shall we have a celebration for everybody for the whole yr??? It's time to catch up wat we missed the whole yr... I was chatting wif Rongren abt when was the last time we met up.... Seriously I cant realli rem... Think it was ktv + chomp chomp?

Shall we have another session one of these days?? When will u all be free?? For me, I'm working so wkdays only ard 7pm. Wkends....muz make appointment hahaha... No lah need to make plans early mah.

Haiz... last time in NY...at least every wk we'll meet once...
In Uni, we've made it a pt to meet at least once a few months...

hey ppl! my hallball is finally over!! yay~~~
hav been super duper busy for e past mth~! most of e sponsorships lk e formal wear n casual wear n make-up artists are handled by one of my pageant coordinator who says he got a GOOD fren who can handle it for him.. den ar.. 3wk b4 e hallball, his so-called gd fren decided to dua him.. soo...
dua him = dua me! = siao liao..dai ji dua diao liao!!!
so.. e rest of e pageant coordinators scrambled for sponsorships.. panicked n flustered..
at last managed to find each of dem one by one..
pageant trainin was shack man~ every single day leh~!!! kaoz.. even on National Day lor..
but all e hardwork was worth it i guess.. cuz e pageant was a success!

initially i din wana stay hall anymore..cuz all e involvement is so bloody time-wasting!
den i realised something..
the pts system is ALL BULLSHIT lor.. ALL KELONG ONE!!!
jcrc is corrupted la.. as long as jcrc likes u.. u can stay wth a few pea pts lor..
i got 104pts last yr n i stayed on in hall1..
some ppl get 40+ or 50+ pts n oso stayed on in hall1~!
wats e bloody pt of scoring soo much?!
n know wat.. there is dis senior who is in jcrc.. he always sees me as a "off-hall" guy..n so, one day during hall supper (i was at pageant trainin n not there)
he asked my gf,

"hey..wat is xyz joining dis yr ar? do u noe he jus scrapped thru wth his pts last yr??"

YA RITE! as if i scrapped thru lor! i got 104pts leh.. i bet he din noe i hav so much pts lor.. he jus wan to find someth to say abt me onli la.. TMD~

I noe, but it's betta to do a survey first b4 deciding on a date. I can juz fix a date dat i can make it, but wat's if no one else can! As discussed during the last gathering, anione of u is interested to go to ubin for cycling or go for kayaking expedition??? Or is there anione interested in taking a powercraft course..then u can go jet skiing on ur own. Btw, i juz completed my 3 star course today, it is really an eye-opener to noe dat actually wat we learned in 2 star was really nothing compared to it. Being able to perform an eskimo roll really gives a sense of satisfaction... Well, looking forward for e charity swim kayaking at kallang river in 12 june. heyo guys,

for the past few days, this site has got problems. based on what suping said, it must've been because one of us changed the template stuff.. but anyway pling went to the rescue and now everything can be read!! *applause* :D :D :D

very happy for the outing on tuesday, highest turnout ever!!! *wah~~~~* so, when are we going to ubin ar?? i know a lot of us are very gian. but trust me, a lot has changed on that island.

glad to hear about what some of us are doing now, esp caiyun *WAH!!!!~* ^_^ as for xyz, . . . . . hmmm... well serving earlier IS better than serving later rite? imagine, when you grow older and your fitness cannot make it, the gahmen still wants you to go chiong sua, how to?! haha...

as for me, i'm still interning at mtv asia (one more month left).. am looking forward to the (not-so-long) break from the working world, but i can't imagine myself studying from july onwards!! other than that, i'm still busy with npcc stuff (what's new right? *shrugs*) as well as brainstorming for my final year project. my group is planning to do a documentary on the terrible situation of batam child prostitutes so if that really materialises, a lot of money and time will be spent, esp in batam :) oops...

someone actually updated the site WHILE i was reading it.... so the backgrd suddenly had tonnes of OAC crest coming out and suddenly played music...SIA SI WO LE... anywae, today's outing was fun! The KTV session was great! and i finally got to hear qinglin sing.. hehe... Weishan and her sweet voice that doenst exactly match her character... hahaha... So now we noe, whoever dun turn up for gatherings get gossiped about. so better come for the next one! rite yiling? *winks*

Hi guyz... holidays is coming for most of us... some of ur r going to graduate soon n i hope we can make use of this holiday to hav a gathering... at least a dinner k? We hav been together for at least 2 years, so juz spending one evening out of ur many many evening isnt dat bad.. i dunnoe wat happened to e last outing at cityhall.. i dun even noe who it intended to target anyway?? Well... i dunno wat to say about today... i tink none of u feel anything bad towards it cos nbd came eventually but me... tho the main reason for me to go suntec was to meet up with u all... i did everything in the world but that. i mean... if anyone if not going or something maybe u all wanna let the rest noe abit earlier... rather than them wait in vain...
i was thinking of going early so that i can still walk around the career fair n not be late to meet u all... but wat i got was not wat i expected... its not that im reli free or something... i noe everyone has alot of work during this period. was quite surprised an outing was organised but i tot its kind of nice to meet up with u guys and i was glad to be called to go out again... to tell me that u will call me upon arrival but smsing me that u are not coming anymore AFTER the meeting time, aint a nice thing to do... i'm not trying to aim at anyone in particular but this outing reli saddens me truly...
sentosa time in full swimming gear n not swim. city hall dinner and nbd turn up. i mean... if this carries on... i wouldnt blame anyone else for not turning up on any future outings... cos nobody noes when everyone would not turn up together and so called kena dua... to end of with a light note, i had a friend that stayed with me throughout my wait for u guys... i was just telling her all about how we used to have fun n play together n how it deteriorated to the current state... guess its just how much we reli care about each other in the end. i learnt from the church service i attended today (although im not a christian cos i had nothing to do), was that i have to give grace. i reli wanna give grace to u all but... it reli saddens me abit. hope it doesnt happen again... if i ever turn up for any future gatherings.

actually, i'm touched by the responses of our batch pple, after the sentosa outing that didn't happen. it shows that we do care about each other after all, right? ^_^ so, let's look forward to our next gathering, hopefully a steamboat meal! (i luuuurve steamboat :P~) hahahaha

anyway, this week is a hectic week at my workplace, because of the mtv asia awards. office is much quieter now cos many of them have flown to bangkok for the show. however, work is piled up cos right after the awards, we have a looooooooooooooot to service to the channels. :(

did some simple edits for some of the acquired shows today, quite interesting. however, after a while, i got so sick of all the breasts and asses that i was seeing. i think the editor was oso damn pek cek, have to mask off all those body parts in every shot every frame -_-" what were these pple thinking when they took part in those reality programmes, man?! aiyo.... making a fool of themselves and allowing the rest of the world to watch them on tv. however, i must say that one of the shows had this girl with The Butt. pretty lean and perky, but a little wobbly haha :X

AILEENA!!! so harpie to see you here!!! anyway, i'm also away from school and books and projects this semester (when r my next exams, november? :X) cos i am on internship till june 18, if i haven mentioned to some of u oreadi. i'm interning at the networks operations dept of mtv networks asia.
basically, the first week i spent there was on handling general video dubbing/aircheck requests. my shifu was nice and she loves purple too!! ^_^ hahaha.. the second week was more happening. my second shifu is in charge of international video clip acquisition, clip titling systems and show/promo acquisition from india. she goes for a clip acquisition meeting every tuesday with the programming people to watch the latest english video clips and decide what they want and what they don't. and i got to go with her that tuesday!!! was feeling quite excited before that but honestly, spending a morning watching similar hip-hop videos of black man in baggy clothes dancing around with black women in barely-there threads while listening to almost identical tunes is nothing much to shout about. ha~ but who's complaining? :P
my dept pple are actually quite nice. most of the horror stories about interns being treated like sai gang party didn't really apply. they are all careful not to load me with too much work (cos more work=more mistakes, which is intolerable in broadcast media), but they are ok with letting me do their regular work, not "photocopying, sweeping the floor and making coffee" haha. also, they are very helpful with my questions. i'm enjoying my time there so far and am looking forward to the rest of the 22 weeks ahead.
lastly, i need to apologize to everybody here... i can't attend the gathering on 22nd!!!! :~( that is because i enrolled for the kayaking 3-star course and it turned out that the dates that are assigned to me (i was told only on friday) included 22nd. *sobz* how how how?! :(

Harlo, it's me again! Yep to update about wat i've been doing recently too! All u NTU guys, i'm only starting school tomorrow! but... i'm starting school with one module short to graduation cos i got outbidded for it. it's my final sem too... reli gonna miss school so for those who are still in school, treasure every moment of it!... I'm starting to think about future and stuff and thinking what i should do when i graduate.

in around 4 hrs time i have to go for my cousin's wedding... In this father's side, i'm the next in the row... so everybody is eyeing on when is it my turn... Well after my last relation, i've sort of understood what i want in a relationship. Before my ex, there was this guy that i was fond of. we were gd friends. but after i knew he wanted to focus on his work and wanted things to remain as it was, i kinda side tracked and got together with the guy u all saw at my birthday. during the times when i was my bf, i reli did like him. but after we parted, i realised just how unmatch we were. in terms of tinking backgrd and all. Finding 'the one' ain't easy... and sometimes, the one u tink is ur one might not tink u are his ' one ' . Currently, 'the one' (my friend i was fond of) for me have left singapore for philadelphia and wun be back till 1 yrs time... i'm gonna wait... cos i tink its a waste of my time and other ppl's time if i jump into any reln with him not ard. The wait might be fruitless, but i'd rather wait then go against wat my heart desire. after 2 yrs plus of ups n downs in reln, i turn one big round and come back to the same person... so lesson learnt: stick to the one u like till the end. even if u try someone else, ur heart will guide u back to where u always wanted to be.

work has been really ok so far. kris and my other colleagues are really nice and friendly people who are helpful and willing to share their experiences or answer my questions. and these days, i'm really eating a lot and eating very well during lunch! (from cafe cartel, crystal jade and food in chinatown) day by day, i'm slowly grasping the inner workings of my department and the whole company but so far it's been manageable... but the other day when jazzes walked past, she suddenly told me that i will become very stressed (or something along this line). though she was joking, i felt this sense of foreboding. but oh well... everything's so far so good... on hearing that i intern for mtv asia, many people have been asking me these few things:

will i going to bangkok for the mtv asia awards? (answer: NO, i'm just a small fry)
do i see stars when i work? (answer: YES - cos i see stars when i see mind-boggling dubbing forms etc; and NO - my job scope is not as glamourous/happening/shiok/shiokanathan as people think)

however, in my 4 days so far, i seem to see familiar people wherever i go. the other day when i met up with libing, i bumped into ghim lay and meishi in kino. that same day, i met up with the following (in chronological order):

denise keller - was queueing up for yong tau foo in ps food court when i heard the voice of a woman speaking in a real heavy accent (which i thought was damn fake). i turned around to see her queueing next to me. she had heavy makeup and alot of vegetables for her yong tau foo.

leandra rasiah - she was looking for her friends' friends in topshop. she looks exactly like how she looks on tv.

xiaxue - saw her at gelare where libing and i had supper. she's petite, super fair-skinned and immaculately-dressed. she also had heavy make-up but i must say she looks quite good.

the next day, i saw this person:

ho yeow sun - spotted her at the ps vehicle pickup point with a group of people (recording company personnel? church people??). she was wearing a short-ish white jacket and red mini-skirt, exposing the lower half of her pregnant tummy. she wore platform shoes somemore -_-" wah stressed man...

the story about my new shoes
i bought a new pair of brown suede mary-janes 2 days ago. i absolutely loved my purchase till i realised that the strap on my right shoe is slightly wider and lighter in colour than that on my left shoe. i was v depressed and disappointed that i bought 'defected' stuff with such visible problems. but yesterday when i looked in the mirror of the office lift, i saw that the pair of shoes looked identical. my conclusion? sometimes, only you yourself care excessively about your flaws; others may not even see it or deem it as important. so there's no need to pressurize yourself too much.

malcolm's analogy about porcelain mugs and paper cups
one can use either a porcelain mug, or several paper cups to drink water. the porcelain mug is good because it is convenient to use your own utensils, but you have to clean it regularly or it'll become extremely dirty over time. the paper cups are more difficult to use (cos every time must take out a new cup) but you can throw a cup away once it has served its purpose, hence it is more hygienic.
so far (according to malcolm's analogy), i've been using the porcelain mug and paper cups simultaneously. his suggestion is to either make sure i clean my mug regularly to keep it clean and good, or consider using paper cups from now on. actually, have been contemplating this idea for the whole day today. (troubles make a bad start to your working day>.<)
maybe paper cups are a better idea... :/

think the 2nd story is a bit weird rite? well... the mug represents a fixed organisation while the paper cups represent ad-hoc projects and events committees. go figure.

ps. yz u taking chado? its a damn interesting subject!! i took it last sem and got a c -_-" but still i thought it was a good course that teaches you lessons in life, apart from tea-making. :)

What m i doin here!? hAiz my outing wif wendy & shuer cancelled last min.. Super sIAnz!! I realli hate it when thingz r being planned nice nice liao den last min called off!!! I've been craving for the mushroom soup at Sizzler loR! Den now students got 50% discount during wkdays 3-5pm mah. Called off coz shuer suddenly got a super lousy timetable after using the E-Swap.

Nwae..today very tired coz 830 lect. I hate A/P Joseph Kang loR! He is a korean but he toks as if everybody understands. Cant stand him! Heng nv kena him as my tutor AgAIn! Im thinking if I should skip this lect next wk & make wed my unofficial free day!

After lect went NIE wif Wendy & Shuer to buy bks. But out of stock den ask us to wait.. Once we saw the bks being pushed in, we RUSHED in!! Super broke eh.. coz I offered to help a few more frenz buy the textbks since I'm there liao. Den gotta pay for them 1st lor *Sobz* Carried 6 textbks from NIE to North spine to South spine den back to hall. I think I should haf lost a few kilos hehe.

Guess wat?!! Wendy did a sia suay thing AGAIN!!! On our way from North to South spine, we saw a guy who looks like Rongren. Wendy saw tt guy, & without thinking shouted out, "RONGREN!!!" Kaoz!! Haiz... super sianz skol reopen liao!! Had my 1st lecture today. Feels kinda weird...but i cant explain y. After tt went popular to check the prices of my tb... So ex!! Tml gotta go NIE to buy!! This sem didn't sell any of my old tb. Lent them out to my frenz & jnrs for free. But when i need an old tb....seems like I didn't get it for free. Gotta pay a price for it. But nvm lah... on sunday, malcolm and i went to help some of his nus friends collect relief stuff to be delivered to other organisations. things were pretty smooth-sailing, except for the earlier part where we sent this van-load of items to saff-perdaus (a muslim service centre, apparently) and we were told that they did not accept clothing. yet, they had not decided what they wanted to do with the clothing collected. so we waited for almost 20 minutes before it was established that their in-charge has agreed to take in clothing in the first place. -_-" anyway, looking at how they work made me worried. they arrange the supplies item by item. omg... looking at that made me wonder whether the help we render to the affected countries actually reach the people if inefficiencies such as those occur at various levels. :(

anyway, on a happier note, yesterday was my first day at mtv networks asia! after a v long briefing by celine, the hr manager, we were shown around the company. though i've always reported to tower 1 for interview and for work, my department is actually at tower 2 (which is linked from tower 1 office).
my colleagues are very nice people! a few of them were even my seniors in cs! they were nice enough to even ask me along for lunch. basically, they seem like a happy bunch of people to me. kris, my supervisor, brought me around and even to the adjacent departments to introduce me to people, which was nice. but most of the people who were introduced to me said they "will be working closely with me", which is kinda daunting. anyway, the rest of the people were nice and open. angeline, the person whom i'm attached with for this week, is a young-ish mother of one. she is selfless to the extent that she tirelessly answered my questions, shared snacks, gave one of her own mtv asia awards lanyards since "i always give them away" and she knew that i collect such stuff.
right now, i'm trying to learn whatever i can to be effective in the company. today, i'll be doing some hands-on of angeline's job while she supervises. hopefully it'll be a smooth day. =)

anyway, i celebrated christmas at zouk and new yr watching 'meet the fockers'.. .. . .and i reallie tink the show is quite funny, not worth a ph ticket price but well... and i tink there's two good movies coming up...electra or sumthing and one horror....paiseh both i oso cannot remember the titles....

my new yr resolution is to be more ladylike(hahaha) .. .. and to practice more discernment in frenship i guess..but guess wif u guys dun reallie need to....... so far i haf been sticking well to both resolutions....maybe beta to the second one but i am def trying. . .. .hahaha...

I've been slacking around thinking about future. Can't believe i'm graduating in 1 semester's time... Anyone got any gd lobangs for a gd job? or any rich guy wan to support me? hahaha. I'm not going NIE so soon already. I'm going to go out into the university of singapore society to learn about the outside world and see wat i can get out of it. If all else fails... pling::: the end and the beginning (010105)

the last night of 2004 was poignant as it was mediaworks' final night of broadcast. i see it as a blue day for the singapore media industry. that night was also the night where i was swamped with images: of dead bodies in various states of decomposition and last struggles, of volunteers in masks trying to photograph the faces of the corpses, of a caucasian man sobbing as he hugged his boy tightly. i cried, the first time, for the victims. it's like, we feel tremendously for them, but what can we do??

however, 2005 kickstarted on a good note. malcolm and i helped out at npcc hq to pack relief packages to be sent to sri lanka (apparently, according to the tv news broadcast i saw tonight). to me, the whole 'volunteer' event might just be a publicity stint for npcc, and true enough, we were told during the morning briefing that "media people" were arriving between 10am to 11am. DuH.

anyway, we got cracking soon after and everything was in chaos. first, too many people were giving instructions when we were supposed to only follow those of mr john lee and mr bala (there was this unidentified officer who kept telling us where to put stuff etc...) fortunately, Commandant righted the situation and things became s-l-i-g-h-t-l-y better after that.
then there was the hassle of redundant movement of items (e.g. the people in charge of bedsheets had to move the bulk across the drill shed, thrice!). to me, it only makes sense if you move the lighter stuff, faster this way, what. but oh well, we just followed what they said to avoid confusion. it just showed how little planning was done for this event, how everything was last-minute, right down to the floor plan of the drill shed for the event. is impromptu 'planning' becoming the mark of npcc? i wonder... :(
after that, the journalists came and quite a number of people switched into wayang mode, hovering near the senior assistant commander and commander tracom, posing for cameras (yuck), and arriving at hq at the right moment (i.e. lunchtime) to show their faces. i perfectly understand the workings of journalism, but pleeeeease, don't ask people to smile for the camera when you're reporting on VOLUNTEER efforts to ease people's pain... be more sensitive, lor. worse still, don't hinder our work!

but anyway people were generally high-spirited throughout the sorting and packing process. though it is for a solemn cause, we did have our fair share of joy and fun while doing work. it was great to feel the npcc spirit alive while everyone's hard at work. we finished sorting and packing a mountain of bedding and clothing (2/3 into the drill shed's ceiling i think) into boxes and observed a minute of silence with the rest of the nation for the tsunami victims.

also had a long talk with exco people like shumin, shuyu and collin. my conclusion is, no matter whether one chooses to take or not take my advice to him, i'd still speak my mind anyway. i guess that's my life philosophy, being open and sometimes to the extent of risking to incur people's wrath and irritation? i mean, last time in oac, people also called libing, weishan and i the 3 volcanoes. but whatever it is, i'll speak my mind when i need to. i just hope exco can work in harmony and not be rocked internally by people who try to sow discord for no apparent reason.

met up with my cs friends in the evening at keith's place for the "before-we-get-exploited' gathering. it was nice to see and talk to all of them again. =) ghim lay also passed me my birthday present, an orange abercrombie tee that reads something like "I've got places to be and parents to avoid". hahaha... love it! ^_^

well, if today is a good indication of how the year is going to be, i'm definitely digging it. :)

i had initially wanted to write about my christmas celebrations - my gathering with the contingent commanders of npdp 2004, the novena church christmas mass, my gathering with my sec sch npcc buddies, well-wishes from long-lost d99 friends, my last day at work, wishes and plans for the new year... etc etc. yet, in the light of the asian tsunami tragedy, everything else seems trivial. the unexpected catastrophe has done infinite devastation to asia. for singaporeans, we can only imagine the extent of the damage and the victims' sentiments.
however, was reading weilun's blog and he mentioned that sometimes, the worst events can bring out the best in mankind. i agree. since the disaster happened, singapore and our people have risen up to the occasion. donations in cash and kind are pouring in to various charities. npcc is volunteering their services this weekend to pack relief packages for our indonesian friends. the other day, libing asked me how we could help these people, and malcolm contemplated withdrawing his ers to donate to the victims. honestly, this disaster has changed several things, just like 911.
personally, now when i buy a top, i'll think of the fact that the victims have nothing left apart from the shirt on their backs. (i'm reminded when i saw the donation tin can at giordano) when i buy food from mac, i'll be thinking of how penniless they are to even afford a bowl of instant noodles which price has since risen to S$3.50 in indonesia, due to exploitation. when it rained last night and i was lying on my bed, i'd think of the people who have no home anymore.
have been wondering why this is happening at the end of 2004, when we're happily ushering in 2005. i've since concluded that this is a test for mankind, a test to sieve out the kind and the wicked, the caring and the nonchalant. this is a reminder for the human race, a reminder that mother nature is more powerful than we think, that amid devastation, there is still goodness in humans.
various parts of the world are scaling down their new year celebrations, but if someone wishes me 'happy new year', i'll still wish the same for that someone too. everybody hopes for a happy new year, like never before.
p.s. see no point in talking about new year resolutions, wait till the new year actually rolls around bah.. meanwhile, my only resolution is for the world's people to remain resolute as the world deals with the tragedy. i'm keeping my fingers crossed and my spirits high. happy new year, hopefully. :)

woo hooo happy new year's day!!!! so fast time flies!!! how did everyone celebrate new year's eve? well i did mine in hall ahhaha.. eh don say i no life oki i had a bbq here with my boyfriend n friends...the coolest thing i did in the first hour of the new year is to sneak into the sports and recreation centre swimming pool and we went platform diving!! damn shiok ah!!! i jumped the 5 meters one.. so scary!! plus it was like 12 plus am the water was cold and dark.... makes it even more scary!! heng security guard didnt come though we were all prepared to run if he did haha..
which reminds me of jetty jump yar! hehe.. this time i jumped, then not straight then my butt pain pain haha so suay!!

just read all the blogs posted... brownie points for mr president yingzhao for setting up the blog...!!! i see that being in NTU n staying in hall has taught u lotsa cool stuff ahhaha... real nice to read how u guys are doing; Weishan n her "oh thomas ong so handsooommmeee!!" so funny lar u if it was me, i confirm paisay to ask him for photo one haha.. then again ur skin so thick.. hahah!!! Caiyun with her honeymoon! =) thumbs up for touring london paris venice rome... alrite! my new year's resolution is to tour the whole of bloody europe after i graduate!!! alritey then my updates!!! 2004 has passed so fast man... and my results have proven to be the best in my NTU career!!! cuz i final year already so i quit doing sports club stuff... then my results not bad.. i wonder to myself if i had not been so active in my sch activities i maybe a scholar by now!! (haahha yea rite but let me indulge in tt thot lar oki heheh) well next sem, i only have a 2 day week!!! im so bloody free i dunno i stay in hall for one week do wat.... so good luck to everyone with their studies for 2005 oki!!!! let's all work hard to acheive great results!!!

and my birthday!! sorry my dear peiling and weishan i didnt sms u guys cuz n i was in bangkok from the 8 to 12 dec celebrating my bdae there ehhehe!!! n sorry bunny for not being able to attend ur chalet..(aiyar we so buddy u sure forgive me hor hehe) anyways, bangkok was great!!!! it's a shop and bargain paradise man!!! things there are bloody cheap!!!! and i stayed at the tallest hotel in bangkok that was like 83 storeys!! my hotel room was on the 47 floor.. can u imagine the view i had everynite when i slept n every morning when i woke up!! it was jus fabulous....

as for christmas, on the 24th i watch oceans twelve.. good show so do go catch it!! then kung fu hustle on the 25th dec.. haha quite funny lar although i thot it cld have been better arh... then on the 26th dec....!! only me and bunny went for the oac christmas party!!! ahhaha!!! and we were the 2 oldest seniors there can!!! haha so funny do u guys realise we are already yr 5!!!!! kaoz i feel damn old ar!!! but there are a number of pretty girls so Amos RR YZ JH Ql if u all interested ah can go see see hahaha... anyway i signed on the guest book our oac crest and wrote there 22 batch hehee.. so we will be remembered!!!!!!

Hi ppl!! Like to thank all those who showed concern during the days when I was sick. Well for those who dunno… I kena dengue fever & was admitted to the hospital for 3.5 days. Before tt I was suffering at home for 1 week. =( It was SOOOOO near my 21st birthday!!! I had invited so many ppl… It was the 1st time I booked a chalet & org a party. ONE Aedes mosquito ruined it all!!! I was discharged 2 days b4 my birthday. Den I totally had no energy or so to haf a party or to celebrate. So the party was cancelled…

Before tt, I had told bunny tt I won’t be gg to her chalet on 11th Dec, Sat as I’ve a tkd camp in skol. But since I was still on MC, I can’t go for the camp, so promised bunny tt I’ll turn up for her chalet when I feel better.

Below is the EXTREMELY DETAILED story regarding how I met THOMAS ONG! Ah!!!! U all muz think I’m like those little gals who go crazy abt their idols. Erm…I’m not lor. I can’t exactly explain y I behaved the way I behaved tt day too… He’s juz too charming!!

Meeting Rongren & Yingzhao @ Orchard MRT

I’ve received an sms from rr in the afternoon to meet him & yz at orchard mrt at 530pm tt Sat to buy bunny’s present. After tt saw rr online & promised not to be late. Thus, I’d made an effort to be abit early tt day. Well, it did turn out tt I was the earliest there.. So I juz walked ard the area at the control station. Den after awhile, I’ve decided to stand put & wait.

Encounter with strange boy

Juz when I stood there, a petite boy came over to me & showed me a card he held in his hand. I thought he muz be some boy asking for some charity donation. But after a close look at his card, I realized it wasn’t tt simple. The card wrote something like, Benjamin (I cant really recall his name…maybe it is Joseph or something..) Tan is a hyperactive boy. Blk XX Henderson Rd #XX-XXX. Pls assist him to bus stop with numbers XX, XX, XX, XXX.

He looked no older than a pri skol kid wif really small eyes.. Doesn’t look local to me too. I wanted to help him. But I really haf no idea where the bus stop is. Juz at this moment, Ben held my LEFT hand, and brought me up the escalator to the area outside Wisma. He said he wanna take a cab & I asked if he had enough money. He dug his pocket & showed to $2. Well, I also realized tt his zip was undone… (yuCkz!) Juz when I was thinking abt what I should do, someone got knocked down on the road! *gASpz* Ben was kinda kaypoh or maybe I should say curious… He rushed in front to see. I could haf just slipped away without him knowing. But, I’ve no heart to do so… I went after him & dragged him away from the crowd. Saw this woman kena knocked by a car & a santarina helping her. I was at a loss AGAIn. So I called rr.

Rongren to the rescue

Heng by the time I called rr he was at orchard mrt liao. So I asked him to come & look for me. RR wanted to help Ben too… But dunno y he suddenly ran away. Guess tts becoz he’s a hyperactive boy. We went ard the mrt control station area to look for him. Wanted to gif up but spotted him again. Somehow he knew tt we were looking for him & constantly turned his head & looked at us. He kept asking other ppl for help by showing them the card. But everyone juz ignored him… *tsk tsk* Singaporeans… We followed him all the way back to outside Wisma there again. He went to the side of the road & tried to hail a cab. But it looks kinda scary & we fear tt he might run out into the road & become the 2nd person to get knock down by a vehicle. We pulled him back to safety & decided to take him to a taxi stand. We brought him to the taxi stand behind Wisma & waited with him. On the way there we spotted a police car but no policemen. Abo we could haf handed him over to them to settle liao. Nwae the 2nd cabby we met was a nice Malay guy. RR asked how much is the est fare to Henderson road but he wasn’t sure & said maybe $6-7. RR den asked if he would be nice enough to juz accept $5 & bring him home. He said ok. Well the $5 was from RR. Nice guy rite~? hEe. But later I gave him $2. *pHeW* Finally sent him home!! Feels great to haf done a gd deed. It is better than juz giving donation. =)

Where is Yingzhao!?

U all muz be wondering where is yz rite?? Well, he was late coz he went to visit his grandma. We contacted him & he said he’s at Taka. So rr & I proceeded to find yz from Wisma. Juz as we were walking along the big fish tank there, RR reminded mi to wash my hands! Coz juz now Ben held my LEFT hand rem?? Den I oso realize his zip was undone??? YuCKz! So we immediately turned right towards Giordano there towards the toilet. JUZ AT THIS MOMENT!!! A super outstanding guy walked past us!!! I was stunned for a second.

Most memorable moment of yr 2004

RR kept saying, “Thomas Ong Thomas Ong.” I immediately asked if rr brought camera. Well, heng he did (he alwaz bring nwae HEe)!! I begged rr to help mi take a pic of me wif Thomas ong!! I said tt it would be my best birthday present! RR agreed!! It was den juz in time for me to catch him turning right & not head straight towards the mrt. I chased… & chased… And realized he was in the shoe shop, Beatle Bug.

Thomas was wif 2 other not veri yandao guys. Might be his frenz or body guards hee. I was rather nervous then… What if he rejects mi?! I would be super sia suay…!! As u all noe…I’m a very shy gal lor… Dunno where I got all the guts to walk into the shop…walk towards him.. I smiled nervously at him & ask to take a pic wif him. He smiled back at mi & said of coz can!!! aHH!!! Extremely happy loR! When we were standing there to take pic, Thomas commented tt rr’s camera is veri cool haha~!

Juz at this moment… I think the salegal is jealous of me. She said tt no fotos are allowed. ARgH!! Felt like killing her!!! I was so disappointed… Thomas was SUPER NICE!! He said, “Nvm can go out & take” Furthermore, he held my RIGHT hand & led me out to the fish tank there!!! Can u all imagine?!?!!~? THomAS holding my hAnd!!!!! How I wished the journey to the fish tank would nv end…. While walking there, I told him tt my bd was 2 days ago. Den he wished me “Happy BirthdAY”. Anyway, I think I was too happy to realize how childish & crazy I was saying all these to him lor… Dunno wat he will think.. Den I told him tt I liked him & I liked his shows very much! Siao rite? Den I asked if he has any upcoming serials coming up. He told mi he’s now filming wif Fann Wong(yuCkz!) & will be shown in March. I said tt I’ve definitely support him!!! hEHehhehe!! After tt, rr helped us take picture. Thomas put his hand over my shoulder!! *giggles* Rr helped us take a total of 3 picz hEHe~ Thomas commented tt rr muz haf taken ard 7 shots! I was still ki siao & told Thomas tt rr is giving me chance haha! After tt, I thanked him & we went on separate ways…

Best birthday Gift!

I was still extremely happy after tt. Met up wif yingzhao & told him the story briefly. Then rr went to dev the fotos for mi!! So Nice!! And I really love the photos!! After tt I repeated the detailed story to quite a number of ppl. And kept reminding the guys abt how delighted I was! I think they were quite irritated by me haha. I can’t hElp it!!! Pls forgive mi!! Oh…when I reached Pasir Ris mrt den realized tt I haven washed my hands hAhah!!! But heng Ben held my left hand & Thomas held my RIGHT!!

My Reflections…

I believe tt good ppl will be rewarded. See… By doing a gd deed, I was immediately rewarded by meeting wif Thomas Ong!! If we’ve not helped Ben, we won’t be walking from Wisma taxi stand. I wouldn’t haf to suddenly turn towards the toilet after remembering tt Ben held my left hand. Den I wouldn’t have met Thomas exactly at tt moment!! All these are fated! From then on…I told myself to alwaz help others in need.

In addition, I believe tt we should grab hold of any chance in sight. Opportunity doesn’t come everyday. It is not everyday tt I’ll get to see Thomas Ong. If I’m not daring enough to go into the shop & ask, I’ll nv know if he will reject me or not. We should all give ourselves a chance. Although I’ll be extremely sad if he were to reject taking a pic wif me, at least I try. If I’d not asked, I wouldn’t be here sharing my joy wif u all. I’d be complaining & regretting abt being a wimp! Anyway, this applies to any other thingz such as in love life. Don’t be afraid of being rejected. Juz gif yourself a chance!

Hi ALL!!!!!
Hope you are all enjoying your hols... and now that its coming to an end.. its back to the grind again :(
I had great fun in Europe- went on a business study mission to Barcelona with my school. Spain is a great place to shop !!! Will definately go back again to tour the whole of spain in autum or summer. We went to visit many companies -- the highlight- wine tasting at the vineyards and the main headquarters of Mango!!!

After that me and my bf toured Rome, Venice, Paris and London. Not all bed and roses thou, cause with a shoestring budget- we had to stay in some dingy hostels ;p Apparently whoever said english is the international language is crap-- nobody could speak decent english except in London of course ;p So hand-gestures was definately to way to go. ;p Rome is ermm old.. venice is beautiful and paris is romantic.. London is happening man.. !!! Although i think i have seen enough paintings of christ and naked people to last me a life time ;p

One interesting thing that happened was that we were given money to buy LV stuff!!! We were walking along in Paris when this 2 chinese ladies approached us, they first asked if we spoke english- then asked if we spoke chinese--- when we said yes.. they were soo excited .. they started asking if we could do them a favour by helping them buy Louie Vuittion wallets from the DFS shop. Apparently you can only buy a limited number in 1 day. So me and my bf walked into the shop loaded with 2K euros and bought 5 wallets in total !!! SOO Shiok... feel like a taitai man.. hahah sadly they dint tip us ;( on hidsight-- we should have just ran away with the money and made our trip in europe soo much more comfortable ;p imagine $4300++ in sing dollars hiazz...

I will be taking like 2 TA jobs and an RA job next term .. soo... looks like a freaking heavy year for me.. :( And my bf is taking an internship next term... sooo sobzz.. we will both be working hard to recoup some money we have spent like water in europe-- a total of abt 5 K per person ...blah... have had a great term last year -- with a GPA of about 4.. soo hope can make into the dean's list next year as long as i dont F* up my grades...

weeeeee~! just saying Hi! to everyone.. RR here..my life now is quite horrible .. everyday have to do Hall stuffs.. involved in Hall Production stage crew.. working like bangladeshi worker everyday.. building structures after structures.. sawing of wood after wood.. painting walls after walls... @#@@%$#%#@@%#$^@!$@ and... nobody even appreciates US! all the glam goes to the actors and actresses... the directors... the producers.. who just basically sits around n do nothing.. (if i sound like i am complaining..well.. i am!)...wahaha..everyday work from 12 pm to 12 am okay...wat a bad idea to gain points... yar.. i realised u gotta join somethign that u r really interested in..otherwise no amount of points will gif u any motivation and get u anywhere.. well.. since i am in it.. guess i have no choice.. i am not a quitter..

hmmz.. gotten my results liao.. its really quite bad.... (by chem engine standards) .. but.. as i said.. i dun tapao.. i happy liao.. and i deserve this kind of results lar.. slack too much liao.. anyway got bbbbb-b+...so..average b lor..cap 3.5 .. i am about the lowest in class liao.. lotsa catching up to do this coming sem~!

wow!~ so glad to be here! will try to set up a link to my own blog asap (once i figure it out ^_^) well, been busy almost every holiday, for this holiday, i'm just done with a officers' basic training course (OBTC) for npcc.
finally, obtc is over. the course was the first time that the Honorary Officers of my batch really worked together for a major project (i didn't count lmsc, the other course which i was in charge of, since that was 6 days in all... well it's arguable), and i feel we learnt a great deal from it. where do i even begin?

we should communicate our thoughts and ideas and instructions clearly to others, so as to prevent ugly miscommunication problems.
we should always behave in a professional manner, no matter how @#$% and @$*&! some trainees and even some instructors can get.
we should plan every important detail very much in advance, so as to prevent firefighting. there is a difference between having a super-tight rein on things and being meticulous in planning.
we should organise everything properly and neatly, to prevent incidents of things getting lost.
we should speak up whenever we feel something about somebody or somebody, after which it is up to the individual whether he wants to accept the advice.

whatever it is, it has been a physically and emotionally draining experience that enabled me to understand even much much more about the whole npcc system. despite having passed up chances of going for OBS (twice!) and OB sabah as well as dropped the idea of travelling alone for my 21st birthday, taking part in obtc is still, in retrospect, something that i would not miss for the world.
talking about my 21st birthday, it was definitely without much fanfare. however, many people like suqi, biying, liu ting, libing (who bought me lingerie as birthday gifts... heee), wilson, malcolm, eric, tilden (!), sheng en, lianyu, zewei, weishan, bunny, ghim lay etc sent me their well-wishes. sean got me a really huge elmo doll haha. but other than that, that was it. till now, i would occasionally have problems coming to terms with my adulthood. it feels like 1'm still 20 years old. in fact i wish that i was still 20. nowadays when i look at old photographs or read old paragraphs or see old articles that i have, i can't help but lament how fast time flies. earlier on i was still telling malcolm about how fast christmas is approaching... speaking of which
christmas is coming!!! kinda like the christmas lights along orchard road and dhoby ghaut area. tangs wins hands-down again with their crystal fairy lights (so beautiful, you really feel like plucking them off the ceiling, not that it is impossible anyway :P) and purple hues... absolutely beautiful. too bad i don't have a digital camera to capture the sight. :( december always has connotations of happiness and celebration.

oh well, what am i saying?

i'm the type of person who'd talk, but shut up when i realise or when it becomes clear that the other party isn't listening or isn't interested. i don't enjoy 对牛弹琴. though i'm also the type of person who'd stand strongly by my opinion or whatever that i say, i recognise that what i say won't rouse people's attention all the time, and will stop when told. i won't get offended by that at all, as long as they make it clear that they aren't interested.
but, i wonder if people understand what i'm saying in the first place? ah well
